Nikos Govas
About
Nikos Govas is a theatre pedagogue practitioner. He studied mathematics, theatre, and pedagogy in Greece, England, and Australia. From 1998 to 2014, he served as Head of Cultural Affairs at the Directorate of Secondary Education of East Attica Greece, developing local cultural networks with an emphasis on theatre, audiovisual arts, literature, and human rights. He is the founder and editor of the journal Education & Theatre (2001–2021), served on the International Editorial Board of Research in Drama Education (RiDE) (2011–2017), and was founder and president (1998–2008) of the scientific association Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (TENet-Gr). Since 2025 is member of the Executive Committee of IDEA-International Drama/Theatre & Education Association. He has authored, co-authored, or edited numerous books and articles on theatre and education and is an experienced adult educator and group facilitator.
