About the Workshop

Flamenco, originating from southern Spain (Andalusia), is a powerful fusion of music, song, and dance. It is recognized for its rhythmic footwork, graceful arm movements, and palmas (handclapping); above all, it stands out for its intense emotional expression.

In this workshop, we will learn the fundamentals of flamenco through technique, posture, rhythm, and musicality. Through body awareness exercises, we will deepen the connection and expression established through dance, meaning, and emotion.

The warm-up section also incorporates elements from contemporary dance techniques; the focus is on tension and relaxation, rhythm and timing, space, balance, flexibility, and improvisation.

The warm-up is done barefoot and in comfortable dance attire. For the flamenco section, sturdy, heeled shoes (not stiletto heels) and a wide skirt are required.

“Discover the passion of flamenco in this beginner-friendly workshop. Rooted in Andalusian traditions, flamenco combines rhythmic footwork, expressive arm movements, and handclapping into a powerful and emotional dance language.

Through accessible exercises in technique, posture, and musicality, you’ll explore coordination, expression, and connection—with the music, the rhythm, and yourself.

No prior experience is required. Come and feel the energy of flamenco.
